I am Eva. I design user interfaces. I have been doing this freelance for about six years now, working from a small studio space in Bormujos, which is a suburb of Seville.
Before going freelance, I worked at a product design agency in Madrid for three years. It was good training but I wanted more control over the projects I took on and the way I worked. I am not a morning person, I work best in the afternoon, and agencies are not usually flexible about that kind of thing.
I mostly work with tech startups and mid-size companies who are building digital products. Health apps, fintech dashboards, learning platforms, travel tools. The common thread is that they all have complex features that need to feel simple to use. That is the problem I enjoy solving.
Bormujos is ten minutes from central Seville by car. I chose it because I could afford a proper studio space here instead of working from my kitchen table. Most of my clients are not in Seville anyway. About half are in Madrid, some in Barcelona, and the rest scattered across Europe. Video calls and Figma links work perfectly.
I do not skip user research. Even on small projects. It is the difference between designing what users actually need and what you think they need.
Making something simple takes more effort than making it complicated. I am willing to put in that effort because the result is worth it.
I work 12-8pm most days. My best thinking happens in the afternoon. I respond to messages in the morning but the real work starts after lunch.
